Forensic Engineering and Expert Witness Services

The Collin Group has performed forensic evaluations on over 75 geotechnical structures across North and South America. This includes forensic analysis of mechanically stabilized earth wall failures, reinforced and unreinforced slope failures, soil nail wall failures, sheet pile wall failures, deep foundations and various other geotechnical structures. In addition to the forensic analysis, Dr. Collin has served as an expert witness in over 50 cases involving geotechnical failures.

The forensic analyses performed by The Collin Group have included the use of relative new technologies like photogrammetry to measure deformation of earth retaining structures that are not stable. Numerical methods, such as finite element analysis has also been used when complicated soil-structure interactions are involved.
